Perth is the capital of Western Australia. Perth was established in 1829 and the central business district is located on the famous Swan River. Swan River is so named for its abundance of black swans.
We visited Perth in October 2014 as part of a trip up part of the western coast of Australia. The waterfront was undergoing a major renovation at the time of our visit but fortunately the Swan Bells were still operating. The Swan Bells are a set of 18 bells located in the Bell Tower which dominates the waterfront.
A visit to Kings Park was a must and it didn’t disappoint. The park is huge and there is so much to see and do. There is an amazing view of the city from the park as well as an abundance of wildflowers.
